"With every class we endeavor to exceed the expectations of our participants"
This Program is designed for persons who currently have a valid Minnesota Handgun Carry Permit.
Participants are expected to safely handle a handgun
and can demonstrate firearm proficiency without coaching.
Our approach for carry is to conceal your gun (no one should know you have a firearm).
This program is taught assuming that you conceal your firearm when you carry. We back this approach throughout the course with reasons and examples.
Why our Program?...
This course is dynamic not static. What that means for the participant is a program that is always improving,
making positive additions and changes to your carry permit renewal training. Our course gives you additional
reading material and resources that provides the participant an opportunity to continue enhancing their
knowledge beyond our course. Each carry renewal class utilizes three instructors whose diverse backgrounds
in education, training, firearms, and self defense, provide the participant with a comprehensive education and
training program.
This is ~ 4 to 4.5 hour course.
In one location, in our Educational Training Center at the Burnsville Rifle and Pistol Range
you complete your training. This includes your range time and target for the proficiency test
all at one location, no lines to wait in.
This course exceeds the training required by the Minnesota Personal Protection Act of 2003.
Each participant is provided a comprehensive student manual, handouts, and reference materials.
A minimum of three instructors in each class provides a unique and thorough learning experience.
Class fee is $80.00, this includes all materials, range fees, targets and refreshments
Participant provides firearm and 20 rounds of ammunition of the proficiency test. Proficiency test
is done in 5 round increments and is shot at 15 feet and 25 feet.
Refreshments, and treats are included in each class experience
Multi State Permits
Florida Permit: This course fulfills the requirements necessary when applying for a Florida Permit.
(The Florida permit is recognized by approximately 33 states, 27 states if you are not a resident of Florida)
Utah Permit: Information is soon coming on this permit.
The following is an excerpt from a letter we received from a 2008 renewal class participant:
"I wanted to express my satisfaction with the CCW Renewal Class I recently took from you.
With 31 years of police experience and being a police firearms instructor myself, I didn't
expect to get much from this class. I was surprised.
The legal updates surpassed what we get in the police department, the rest of the course content
exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend your class to everyone. I think there would be
fewer problems with permit holders we encounter on the street if everyone followed your format.
My wife and I both maintain our own permits and she also liked the course. She just returned
from Front Sight with me this month from a week of training, and her comment was
that your class had the same as theirs and then some with the legal update. Thanks again"
